My wife and I used to do the same and it really does work...I said, "we used to" because now that they've grown (2 in high school and 1 in middle school) they don't ask or they don't care anymore. I think we did a good job instilling good study habits to our kids...And one more thing, I think they have it all i.e. from computers, expensive toys, cellphones, clothes, shoes and more...they couldn't ask for more and we told them they have 'enough' and it's about time for us to 'pay-off'...hehehe! On occasions, we do reward them, too...even if they don't deserve it...I'm proud of my kids. Aside from being smart in school, they are all good and very respectful...and they like going to church, too!...I LOVE my children and I don't play 'favorites'.....B-)
